Britain's most southwesterly campsite!           English Tourist Board - 3 Stars

In a stunning location, on the waters edge of the remote island of St Agnes, Troytown Campsite enjoys incredible panoramic views across the Atlantic, taking in the Bishop Rock Lighthouse, the rugged western rocks and the uninhabited island of Annet.

Wake up to the sound of the sea, spend your day relaxing by the clear water and white sands of the campsite beach (easy access and safe swimming), then after dining alfresco, watch the sunset from your tent and count shooting stars in the night sky.

The campsite facilities are contained within a traditional granite building and comprise:

  • Modern toilets
  • Washing up facilities
  • Shaver points
  • Hair dryers
  • Power points for charging phones, laptops, PDAs, MP3s etc...
  • Handbasins (hot and cold water)
  • Hot showers (token operated)
  • Baby changing table
  • Washing machine (coin operated)
  • Tumble dryer (coin operated)
  • Ironing facilities

At peak times the campsite is the perfect family site, visited by the same people year after year for the sandy beaches, fabulous views, and the safe, traffic free environment. Outside of the school summer holidays, the campsite is the perfect retreat, with peace and quiet and beautiful scenery in abundance. St Agnes and the adjoining island of Gugh are beautiful and unspoilt, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The island of St Agnes is only one mile across so the many carns and coves can be explored on foot. A great pub, cafe and shop are only a short walk away.

During the sumer months it is essential to book, please check the vacancies page for current status and availability. Also please visit the 'rates' and 'travel' pages for further information. Outside of peak times, you are welcome to arrive at short notice.

Larger parties can be accomodated in a separate field, but need to be booked in advance, we often host school groups and diving clubs etc.

It is possible for us to collect trailers or trailer tents and transport them across the island. If you wish to bring a trailer, please check dates with the Steamship Company before confirming your holiday dates at Troytown.

Dogs are permitted on the campsite, but we do have a limit on the number of dogs on the site at any one time, so it is essential to arrange this with us prior to your arrival. During the school summer holidays we have a strict limit of one dog per party. We ask that dogs are kept on a lead on the site and around the farm and they cause no nuisance by barking or fouling.

Troytown has its own, regularly tested, water supply.

We sell produce from our small shop the farm: Our delicious ice cream, fresh milk, clotted cream, butter, yoghurt, potatoes and other seasonal vegetables. We have beef and pork reared on the farm available from the freezer. In addition we sell most varieties of gas cartridge, paraffin and methylated spirits. Ice packs can be frozen. Camping gaz and calor gas cylinder refills are available. .....more>>
